welcoming 2013

New Years Eve. Usually overrated in my opinion but this year proved different! We decided to stay in a hotel downtown and join in the mass crowds of the city. Me and my roommate are convinced that it was just as crowded as Times Square, but maybe we're overreacting. 

Everyone gathered for the countdown at this clocktower in the middle of the city. For about 10 or 15 minutes, I feared for my life. No one could push through the crowd, I couldn't even lift up my arms! I was in a sea of people and my feet were barely on the ground. When the crowd kept swaying back and forth, I just knew we'd all fall like dominoes. But somehow we came out alive. And right at 12:00 everyone released balloons into the air. I mean thousands and thousands of them!

We put together a video of our NYE celebration. It shows how BIG our city is and also how much fun we had ringing in the new year. I think you'll be surprised!
